The industrial wastewater discharge has serious potential threats, such as pollution of rivers, ground waters, and the environment as a whole. Under the Sustainable and Environment-friendly Industrial Production (SEIP) project of the Indo-German Development Cooperation, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in cooperation with Skill Council for Green Jobs (SCGJ) initiated actions for introducing a market-oriented systems of skilling for the technicians and helpers of the industrial wastewater treatment plants. The Competition for Operators of Industrial Wastewater Treatment has been conducted at IFAT India already for the second time. It focused on quality, efficiency, coordination, and technology application by the participating teams on a theme relevant to the day-to-day operations of CETPs/ETPs.
